CCRT’s new addition is a true southern gentleman!

Beau is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, and was transferred all the way from Texas by another Canadian rescue, before coming into the care of CCRT. Naturally, he is still getting used to the cold Canadian winters.

This little guy has the body of a Dachshund, the legs of a Chihuahua and the ears of a bat; his ears are endearingly enormous and give him a very distinct look!

Beau is fitting in quite well at his CCRT foster home. He shares the home with two other dogs and four cats. He co-exists well with them and would likely be fine in another home with other pets, but he seems to prefer the company of people, so this is not a must. At first, he was very interested in the cats, but his interest wanes every day and he seems to have given up trying to figure out what they are, instead accepting them as odd-looking dogs!

Beau is is well-mannered on a leash. He barks at other dogs, but any physical interactions have been positive so far.  Beau is a people pleaser and with positive reinforcement, has learned to do all of his business outside.  He is a good eater and is always first in line for treats!

If you welcome this sweet boy into your home, you may notice a decrease in your heating bill, as Beau is like a hot water bottle in bed.  He loves to burrow down under the blankets to keep your legs warm and toasty.  He follows his foster mom around everywhere and loves to watch TV snuggled right up against her.

Beau is a gentle little soul with a lot of love to give. Is he the guy for you?
