Meet Buddy! This 4-year-old Chi mix has come into CCRT care through no fault of his own, as his previous owner became unable to take care of him. He is approximately 12 lbs and is a cuddly, playful, loving young man who is full of energy. He is currently residing in his foster home with 3 other chihuahuas. Currently, he does not appear to know many commands, however, he does respond to his name. He walks well on a leash and enjoys his outdoor time. He loves exploring in the backyard or sunning himself on the deck. Buddy is best suited with someone with a fully fenced backyard. He is a noisy fellow, barking when he hears sounds or when someone’s at the door. He appears to have some separation anxiety that we are currently working on. For these reasons, he is not appropriate for condo or apartment living. Buddy has been marking in his foster home which may be due to him residing with other dogs. We’ve been told he does get along well with young children, as well as larger dogs, but he does not live with any in his current foster home. Buddy is looking for a furever home that can keep up with his active lifestyle and has a fenced outdoor space for him to explore and burn off some energy in. Is this you?
If Buddy sounds like the guy for you, please fill out an adoption application. You can purchase a sweater and/or blanket for him, or any of our other foster dogs.
Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our fosters by making a cash donation towards their care.

My house is fairly quiet, with a pug/Boston terrier and a old kitty. My pets stay for life as once they come to stay they are my responsibility. I do own my own home and have a good sized back fenced yard Had wanted to rescue a big dog but now believe a small dog would suit me and my lifestyle better. I am retired and even when I go out I usually take my dog. Kitty isn’t appreciative of car rides so usually he stays home and sleeps. I am interested in adoption and we Buddy might be the one. I live in Alberta close to Red Deer in a small town.
