August 23, 2020 : Adoption Pending
June 7, 2020
Cora (short for Corazon) wants to be your heart dog. You can’t help falling in love with her when she climbs into your arms and gives you sweet doggie kisses. She has so much love to give the forever family that she is waiting for.
This young girl was surrendered to CCRT by her owners who were no longer able to keep her. She is a white, short-coat Chihuahua with brown and black patches.
Cora is a very affectionate little girl who is always wagging her tail and hoping to curl up in your arms so she can go to sleep. She is equally happy in the arms of males and females.
Cora is a submissive, insecure dog who needs an adopter who will be a strong pack leader to help her overcome her insecurities and feel safe. She is easily frightened by things such as loud noises, strangers, and sometimes even the tile kitchen floor in her foster home. Being a young dog, she requires daily exercise, so you need to be able to keep up with her fast pace on walks when she get scared.
Cora’s ideal forever home would be in a house with a person who can be there with her most of the time, such as a retiree, or someone who regularly works at home. She is a needy dog who is unhappy when left alone. An apartment, condo or townhome would be unsuitable for her because she often vocalizes loudly when her humans are out of sight.
Kids under 10 years of age, cats and bigger dogs are not appropriate for Cora’s forever home. A very gentle dog her own size might make a great playmate for her.
Now that Cora is house-trained, she no longer needs pee pads. She is trained to quickly do her business in the backyard on command, and she loves to be praised for being a good girl.
CCRT’s vet has given Cora a wellness exam, spayed her and attended to her dental needs. She has also been microchipped and tested negative for heartworm. Her vaccinations are up to date. Cora has a grade 3 luxating patella on the right leg which does not bother her at this time.
If you are interested in adopting Cora, please fill out an adoption application. You can also purchase a sweater and/or blanket for her or any of our foster dogs. Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our foster dogs by making a cash donation towards their care.

Hi is Cora still available for adoption?
Yes, she is:-)
My retired Mum and I are interested in Cora, we are both home most of the time, we also have 2 female chihuahuas as our pack and feel that maybe Cora could be a new member.
