Dozer is as cute as they come! With his striking chocolate markings and a sweet, inquisitive face, this little guy is the whole package.
Dozer’s most recent owners were unable to continue caring for him, due to circumstances of their own. So they surrendered him to CCRT, where he has been settling in with his foster family.
His foster mom describes him as fun, happy, cuddly and a little bit shy. Dozer is just under two years old and behaves much like a puppy. He’s still learning what life has to offer and loves to chase bugs and play with stuffies. He will play tug with his foster brother – also a Chihuahua – and gets along well with his foster sister, a Cockapoo.
Dozer is house trained and goes outside to do his business, where he also likes to chase squirrels and chipmunks. He comes when called, but because he loves to chase he should not be off leash outside of a fenced yard, for his own safety. It’s a full-time job chasing squirrels, you know! He will sleep in his crate but much prefers to cuddle all night, which is one of his favourite things. Those averse to puppy snuggles need not apply!
Dozer is a hospitable host and will greet people coming into the house with a lick on the hand, although he prefers not to be petted until he can sit on someone’s lap. A true Chihuahua, he wants to go anywhere you’re going! When first meeting other dogs Dozer is very shy, so he will need to be introduced slowly. With more socialization he will become the confident gentleman he deserves to be; he is still very young after all! CCRT will be prioritizing applicants who have the time and resources to devote to some more training and socialization with this little guy.
Dozer is sweet, playful and well-mannered. Now he just needs a companion to help reach his full potential. Are you that companion?
Note: Dozer likes to play with hands and may not be suitable with younger children because of this.
Dozer will be happiest in a home where there is another friendly dog for him to play with and be a constant companion as he loves the company of other playful pups
If you think Dozer would make a great partner in crime, please fill out an adoption application. You can purchase a sweater and/or blanket for him, or any of our other fosters dogs.
Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our fosters by making a cash donation towards their care.

Just wondering is Dozer a chihuahua or a chihuahua mix?
Dozer, from the looks of it, appears to be mostly Chihuahua. However, he may have a little something extra in there as well. What do you think he’s mixed with?
