Gorgeous Gordy is a Chihuahua mix who has come to us via a shelter.  He has been in his foster home for just over a week.  His foster Mom reports that Gordy is a sweet, docile, affectionate 3 year old with a good appetite and perfect bathroom manners.  He does not seem to have any separation anxiety issues.

Two weeks ago, Gordy was neutered and had a hernia repaired.  He now feels great!

His leash walking is satisfactory but he will remain still on the sidewalk as people approach and then pass him.  He is curious about the world around him.  Everything is new for Gordy and he is not accustomed to outdoor noise and is sometimes startled by it.  He will now have the pleasure of many outdoor walks and will hopefully become accustomed to street noise and activity.  He will bark at people if they lean over to pet him.  It’s hard to resist petting a guy as gorgeous as Gordy so in time, he will hopefully become accustomed to this as well.  Gordy is OK with dogs his own size or smaller but is extremely afraid of large dogs and should not be forced to meet them.

Gordy has not played with toys yet but has shown some interest in play as he will play tug of war with a blanket.  Now that this sweet boy is in his foster home, we look forward to Gordy learning to appreciate all that pet dogdom has to offer – walking and smelling the outdoors, meeting your (small) canine neighbours on the street, pets from humans, and chasing toys.  His foster Mom is working on all of these things with Gordy.  He’s already got eating, house-training, and cuddling in order!

Gordy will do best with a person/people who work from home or who is/are retired as he really enjoys human company and should not be left alone all day.

If you are interested in adopting Gordy, please fill out an adoption application.  You can also purchase a sweater and/or blanket for him or any of our foster dogs.  Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel  for any of our fosters by making a donation towards their care.
