Adopted!
Meet Hali!
This 8-year old girl is healthy, active and recently came into CCRT’s care after being surrendered by her owner; in part because of noise complaints due to Hali’s barking. Hali’s just a chatty kinda girl!
While sweet and affectionate when she’s comfortable, Hali does show some fear-based behaviour and would benefit from a forever home experienced with these type of issues.
We were told that Halli sometimes nips people’s ankles, although this hasn’t been the case in her foster home. She is, however, nervous and fearful of visitors at first and will bark or growl if people are too close. The good news? She’s curious and will likely learn to trust visitors over time with positive reinforcement.
When terrified or unsure for any reason, she will resort to ‘screaming’ and biting. She will require a patient owner with the understanding and patience to work with her through these fear-based issues. It took approximately a week before she allowed her foster parent to touch her without her biting.
Once she is comfortable with her person and has trust she is quite the snuggle bug. She enjoys being close to her human, preferably on her, in addition to giving many kisses.
She is quite active and playful for an 8 year old dog, and would benefit from an active family. She enjoys playing, doing zoomies and going for walks.
Hali is housebroken and prefers to go outside, but she does seem to know how to use a peepad. Hali gets along well with most other dogs her size, and would benefit greatly from having a buddy her own size (she seems to have issues with medium or larger dogs). She is a sweet and loving dog that is just looking for someone to love her back, and once she trusts her person she is very affectionate.
We’re seeking a family with adults only for Hali with a quiet lifestyle and lots of patience. Knowledge of fear-based behaviour in dogs would be an asset. A detached home or townhouse with a fenced yard is best for Hali, so her barking disrupts neighbours only minimally. Hali would also benefit from having another small dog in the home for company. Make sure this describes you and your family before submitting an application.
If you think you have what it takes to be Hali’s forever home, please fill out an adoption application. You can purchase a sweater and/or blanket for her, or any of our other foster dogs.
Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our fosters by making a cash donation towards their care.

Hi we’re interested in Hali. Please let us know if you think she’d happy in a home with another dog and older children.
Just keep an eye on her profile and we’ll update it as we learn more about this beautiful gal!
I’d truly love to adopt Hali except, although I earlier filled out adoption forms I don’t know how to proceed further. I offer Hali an abundance of love, a warm home in the countryside, lots of cuddles and caring attention. Please contact me!
If you’ve already completed an adoption form, please reach out to the Regional Coordinator who originally contacted you. They can resurrect your application when Hali is ready for adoption.
