Lily: Adopted June 2019
Lily will be five years old on June 15th. She has gorgeous black and tan markings, and weighs about 5.8 pounds.
Lily is a very confident young lady and is not afraid to let other dogs know she is boss. Before coming to the CCRT, she resided with another small dog as well as a large dog and some cats. She appeared to get along with them all, although she sometimes barks at dogs that are larger than her. She currently resides with 4 other Chihuahuas in her foster home and gets along well with them.
Although she has not been child tested in her foster home, her records indicate that Lily is okay with older children. In the short time she’s been in her foster home, Lily has become very attached to her foster mum and follows her everywhere, even into the shower! Lily needs to know where “her person” is at all times and will whine and bark if she cannot find her.
Lily is very demanding of attention and will attempt to get between her foster mum and other dogs. Her new family will have to commit to working with her in this area. Lily is working on learning boundaries with her foster mum.
Lily is a great eater and sleeps soundly at night, preferably with her foster mum in the bed. She enjoys going out in the backyard to explore and has no issues with doing her business outside even if it is raining.
Lily would be best suited in a home with a fully fenced in backyard that allows her to roam around at will. At her last vet visit, the vet found that she has some loosening of her knee caps, which the vet feels is nothing to be worried about. She’s also been diagnosed with a minor heart murmur and periodontal disease. Lily is scheduled to be spayed and have dental surgery on April the 23rd.
If you’re interested in Lily, please complete an adoption application for her. You can also purchase a sweater and/or blanket for her, or any of our other fosters dogs.
Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our foster dogs by making a donation towards their care.

I am interested in Lily! My daughter (10) and I have a very plump and laid back orange tabby cat. We live in a house with a nice enclosed backyard in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood. Lily is exactly what we have been looking for!
My only question is: will she pee on a wee wee pad? If not, no problem.
Many thanks
To get started, please complete an online adoption application form for Lily here. Please be sure to read her profile carefully and ensure you would be a good fit ie, older children only in the home, new family will address her behaviour issues, does her business outside, etc. If so, we look forward to receiving your application!
You should always adopt or rescue a chihuahua, so many of them need good homes or they may die.
We couldn’t agree more!
