This healthy shiny little girl is Tika. She comes to CCRT as an owner surrender.

Tika is an outdoor kind of girl and is happy to be out in a fenced yard. She is very energetic and loves to explore the big outside world. She is very good with other dogs. Tika is very well behaved and she does not chase cats or chickens. She is playful and gets the “zoomies” at night before bed, running all over the house then settles to sleep for the night. She is house trained but as at the weather is not always good, she will use the pee pad inside the house.

Tjika seems to favour women. Once she gets to know them, she is very affectionate.  She is wary of men and avoids children. She is initially timid with everyone she meets. She hides when any one new comes to the house and emerges once they leave. Tika is easily startled and needs time to adjust to changes. A quiet home environment with a daily routine would be best for her. She does bark to let you know someone has arrived but not to excess.

It appears that Tika has not had any obedience training. She does knows her name and will come when called. Positive Training would be good for her as she needs to learn the basics like sit and to walk on a leash.  She is food motivated so this will make training just that much easier. She would do well in a home where she would not be left alone all day. It would also be helpful if there is another small, confident, and energetic dog for Tika to learn from.

If you would like to adopt Tika, please fill out an adoption application. You can also purchase a sweater and/or blanket for her, or any of our other fosters dogs, please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our fosters, by making a cash donation towards their care.
