November 14, 2017, from Muffin’s new mom

Muffin has been with us for just over 5 weeks.  She has been a wonderful addition to our family and home.  It took her a few days to warm up to the men in the house, but within a few hours, she became my little shadow.  She follows me everywhere.  No matter how many times I go up and down the stairs, she is always right behind me.

When Muffin came, I started going home on my lunch break so I can take her out for a quick washroom break.  Right from the start she was so happy to see me.  Her little tails wags so fast, sometimes I think she is going to hurt herself.

Her potty training is coming along very well.  I have tried to keep her on a regular routine, which I believe has helped her with this task.  A big congratulation goes out to Muffin as she went just over two weeks without having an accident in the house.

Generally, she is not too happy about going out in the rain or the cooler temperatures.  However, she does go out and will do what is necessary so we can quickly head back inside.  The wind and rustling of the leaves will sometimes frighten her and she used to ask to be picked up.  She is learning that all is safe when out with mom and is not as fearful

She has started to play a little with her chew rope.  It generally starts with her chasing and trying to bite my hand.   Then I will slip her the rope and she will be content to chew for a little while.  This type of play is becoming part of our bed time routine.  She is frightened of toys that crinkle and squeak.  I will continue to offer her these toys in the hopes that one day, she will take my offering and enjoy.

Our granddaughters came to visit about week two.  She quickly became friends with them and enjoyed showering them with her kisses.  Which always brought about happy loud giggles from the girls.

Muffin is a real treasure.  She has so much love and affection to give.  I can’t imagine a life without her.
