May 10, 2019: Adoption Pending
January 1, 2019
Despite his name, Outlaw is a love-bug who really enjoys meeting people and stealing their hearts. He is a loving companion to his foster family.
This almost-two-year-old boy has a lovely silky black coat with tan markings. He is a long-coat Chihuahua-mix who was surrendered to CCRT when his owners were no longer able to care for him.
Outlaw is a quiet, very playful young boy whose favourite pastime is playing fetch. He loves his toys and is happy to share all of them with his humans. He likes to keep his toys handy in his bed with him so that he can play with them whenever he feels like it, including first thing in the morning when he wakes up. He also looks forward to his daily walks, and he knows how to walk nicely on leash.
Because Outlaw is reactive to other dogs, he needs to be the only dog in his forever home. He can sometimes be reactive when strangers are not gentle with him or handle him inappropriately before he gets to know them, but he has never bitten. He needs a forever home with no children. We have not had the opportunity to observe him with cats but we do know that he has a high prey-drive for wildlife.
Outlaw has never missed a meal. He loves to eat and is always looking for more food, but it must be restricted in order to maintain a healthy weight. He gets raw fruits and vegetables for treats. Carrots and celery are his favourites and he will ask for them.
Outlaw is house-trained and does not use pee-pads. He is trained to do his business on command outside and he has no objection to going out in the snow or rain. His forever home needs to have a securely fenced backyard where he can play and get lots of exercise.
CCRT’s vet has given Outlaw a clean bill of health, updated his vaccinations and heartworm tested him (negative). Outlaw is neutered and microchipped.
If you are interested in adopting Outlaw, please fill out an adoption application. You can also purchase a sweater and/or blanket for him or any of our foster dogs. Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our foster dogs by making a cash donation towards their care.

I actually make dog coats for this size of dog…. I live in Manitoba and will soon be moving to a place where I can actually *get* a little dog, and as I grew up with long coat chihuahuas, having one now to adopt once I get to my new place would be amazing!
When you’re ready, you’re welcome to submit an online adoption application form for one of darling and amazing foster dogs. I know they would all love to have a home where they can enjoy an unlimited wardrobe!
