Meet feisty little Pedro! This 8 year old pup is seeking a soulmate.  Must love snuggling, belly rubs and have loads of compassion for this furry little guy.

Pedro’s furever human could be a man or a woman – he gets along with both.  But most importantly he needs patience.  He needs time to get used to you.  As he warms up, he will come to you as long as you let HIM do the approaching. He is looking for a human with respectful and experienced dog handling skills.  For this reason, he should not be around small children for his safety and that of the children.

He may only be 5.5 pounds, but he WILL stand up for himself.  Pedro growls and shows his teeth to tell you he is annoyed. He may nip at you if you don’t take the warning and keep annoying him especially while he is sleeping.  It’s best if he sleeps by himself in his own bed. Let’s just say he likes the entire bed to himself!

Pedro is a playful little guy! He loves small stuffed toys and plays fetch until he’s tuckered out.  He’ll get the game going by taking the stuffed toy and sitting on it– ha ha you can’t take this one! He also loves to run in his foster home’s backyard and chase off the birds and squirrels. No one can protect your tulips like Pedro!

With other dogs, Pedro is a bit of a puzzle. He gets along with his foster home’s chihuahua famously. On the other hand, he has shown reactive behavior with other dogs. He doesn’t like cats.  He walks well on a leash but barks at other dogs he encounters, big or small.  His new home should be prepared for this reactive behavior.  He is great at doing his business outside and will need out twice per day.  At this time, Pedro’s foster family is still testing the waters to see if he will be a candidate for a home with other dogs.

At home, Pedro is pee pad trained if he needs to go in between walks. He is a free feeder with kibble and not an over eater.  He loves any kind of treat and isn’t picky about which ones.  At the end of the day, he loves to be a lap dog and get in some snuggly belly rubs with his foster family.

If you meet the criteria for Pedro’s new home, please fill out an adoption application. You can purchase a sweater and/or blanket for him, or any of our other foster dogs.

Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our fosters by making a cash donation towards their care.
