Looking for a lovely little companion you can talk to? Princess is not just a pretty face. She is smart too. She will entertain you and make you laugh when she talks in her funny doggy voice.
Princess was surrendered to CCRT by her elderly owner who adored her but was no longer able to take care of her. This pretty little girl is a black, short-coat Chihuahua with white markings. She is a young six years of age and has trimmed down to a healthy weight of 6.9 pounds while in foster care.
Princess has learned to walk very nicely on leash, and she really looks forward to her daily walks. She is definitely a lap dog with lots of love to give. She is happy to jump onto a lap for a cuddle, back massage and tummy rub. She is a delightful little girl who will make a wonderful companion to a dog-savvy adopter.
Princess likes to be close to her humans and is equally comfortable with men and women. She has not been exposed to children. It would be best if there are no cats or young kids in her forever home. Although she is friendly with other well-behaved dogs, she prefers to be the only dog in her home.
Because Princess was accustomed to spending a lot of time in the company of her house-bound owner, she is unhappy if left alone for long periods. She needs a home where someone in the family can be there to spend lots of quality time with her. Princess is reliably housetrained and does not use pee pads, so she would like to live in a house with a securely fenced backyard where she can go outside.
Since arriving in foster care, Princess has been examined by our vet, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm-tested (negative), had Revolution applied, and had routine blood tests. She has also had her dental needs attended to. She was already spayed.
If you are interested in adopting Princess, please fill out an adoption application. You can also purchase a sweater and/or blanket for her or any of our foster dogs. Please consider becoming a CCRT Sponsorship Angel for any of our fosters by making a cash donation towards their care.

Is she still available?
Yes she is!
Wishing we could. Had our one put down in August, but still have our Ellie Mae. But, we have decided that due to our ages, it would be unwise for us to take on another dog right now.
she’s so sweet ❤️
I love on Hig park in no have hiñdren i am ver y interesen in her
Thanks for your interest in Princess. Please start by completing our online adoption application and someone will be in touch!
Suggested before that if Princess did not find her home by Christmas, that I would inquire. Are you open to a visit , at my house? I have 3 other dogs , including a chi, and it is mentioned that Princess would be better on her own. I work from home , in Caledon. Although, I will be away until Dec. 18th, I am usually always home., and will be off til spring , allowing all day to spend with the dogs. If I’m not home, my husband is, the dogs are never alone , unless we have just gone shopping together. We are one big happy dog family and would welcome Princess , if she would like to live with us. Willing to fill out application for Princess , but not if it’s futile due to other dog issue. Thanks, Patti Rooke
Thank you for your interest in our darling Princess. To begin the adoption process, please complete our online adoption application form. A Regional Coordinator will be in touch!
I owe the ccrt an apology. There was an email from Terry on Dec. 6th, as stated. It was in my spam and so was the follow up one yesterday. When checking emails on my tablet, the spam ones do not even come up , so I had no way of knowing it was there until I explored all files on my pc. Once found , I also did not recognize who Terry might be. Easy to delete without opening. Perhaps a phone call right from the beginning might have been better. Please post this comment on the ccrt facebook page so others will know my mistake. Good luck to Princess and all the other dogs.
Is Princess a barker?
Princess’ profile doesn’t indicate that she barks excessively/unnecessarily although she is a dog, so she will bark as dogs will do!
Is Princess still available? Very interested.
Yes she is:-)
I am interested in Princess. I have 2 senior chichuahuas both male. One of them was adopted through CCRT. His name is Nino and he is now 12 yrs. old. The other one named Bean was adopted through Anne and Petes foster rescue. Is it worth making out an application for her as you mentioned she would be better on her own in a home.

Thank you for your message, we are always thrilled to hear from our former adopters. Yes, her profile states she would prefer to be the only dog, but you just never know. Feel free to complete an adoption application form and when a volunteer contacts you, you can discuss this further. Say hi to Nino for us!
I’m sorry I couldn’t get back to you about Little Princess. Nino has left us now and its still very raw. His passing was so unexpected. He developed an underlying heart issue that we were not aware of. It did not show up on the xray so we figured it was old age setting in
because he was slowing down. We miss him so much and I believe our little bean does also. We can’t replace our little Nino but we have still so much love to give for another little angel. I realize Princess has found a forever home.
I hope she will be very happy. I will keep checking into your website and looking to see if we can find another dog to love. Good Luck Princess.
